Original early twentieth century advertising and invoice card for Rudolf Sašma, sculptor and licensed master stonemason in Kolin Zalabi, Czechoslovakia.
The front of the card is printed in blue with an ornate floral border and Czech text promoting the stone workshop. The advertisement highlights:
- Artistic and industrial stone work
- Sandstone, sienite, diorite, labradorite, marble and related materials
- Monuments, tombs, altars, statues of saints, village crosses, bell towers and memorial tablets
- A stock of approximately eighty monuments, statues and tombs ready for delivery
The reverse side carries a handwritten cost calculation in crowns for a commission, with a pencil note at the bottom that appears to record payment on 19 February 1921.
Condition: Noticeable wear with creased corners and edges, age toning, light staining and an ink mark across part of the printed text on the front. Back handwriting remains clear and readable. The card is structurally sound and presents well as a piece of working trade ephemera.
This is an uncommon example of Czech commercial advertising for a stonemason and sculptor, and a compelling item for collectors of Kolin history, funerary arts, and central European business ephemera.
