This vintage handcolored postcard captures Chestnut Tree Point on Otsego Lake near Cooperstown, New York. Printed in Germany for E. L. Schopfer, the card shows soft tinted color over a quiet lakeshore scene with hills rising across the water and a wooden boat resting near the shoreline. It is postmarked Van Hornesville NY in 1906 and includes additional receiving marks from Fort Plain and Richfield Springs. The card shows light toning, mild stains, and some corner wear. A handwritten message appears along the bottom edge. This is an attractive early lakefront view and an appealing addition for Otsego Lake and Cooperstown collectors.
