This undivided back postcard features the well known Natty Bumppos Cave in Cooperstown, New York. The rugged stone cliffs and forest edge evoke the setting associated with Natty Bumppo or Deerslayer from the Leatherstocking Tales by James Fenimore Cooper. Published by The Rochester News Company and postmarked February 5 1906 with a one cent Benjamin Franklin stamp. There is light toning and normal age wear, and a short handwritten message appears on the front. A desirable early Cooperstown view with both historical and literary interest.
