Original hand-tinted portrait postcard of a young woman from early 20th-century Germany, produced by G.G.C. and numbered 2982/2. The sitter wears a softly colored gown accented with gold trim and sheer fabric, characteristic of Edwardian fashion.
The portrait is beautifully tinted in natural hues, with subtle rose tones applied to the cheeks and lips. Postmarked Cologne (Köln) and mailed to Büren, Westphalia, with a Deutsches Reich 5 Pfennig stamp from the 1910s period.
This is a fine example of Continental studio photography and early color enhancement techniques used on photographic postcards.
Condition: Normal wear for an old postcard. There may be corner bumps, creases, or light postal ink.
