This early 20th century postcard depicts the Ortaköy Mosque on the Bosphorus in Constantinople, shown during the Ottoman Empire period. The waterfront scene includes the mosque, minarets, small boats, and shoreline architecture. Titled Mosquée, Validé à Ortakeuy – Bosphore. The card was mailed from Cairo, Egypt and bears a red King Fuad I Egyptian postage stamp with a Cairo cancellation. An excellent cross-regional example linking Ottoman Istanbul imagery with Egyptian postal history.
