1909 Washington Birthday Patriotic Novelty Postcard Applied Feathers Ribbon Overlay

Vintage patriotic novelty postcard featuring George Washington beneath an American flag and decorative greenery, with applied material arranged over the front and secured beneath a transparent overlay. The decorative green material appears to be feather-like or artificial foliage, accented with red material and ribbon. The front assembly is attached to the postcard with gray ribbon threaded through punched holes around the edges. The card is dated in manuscript February 18, 1909 and was addressed to Saugerties, New York. An unusual early 20th-century novelty postcard with layered mixed-media construction. Condition: Antique condition with age toning, surface wear, wrinkles to the transparent covering, fraying and loss to some of the ribbon, especially near the lower right, and other expected signs of age. Please review both images carefully for condition.
