Featured is an aerial view of the large office Amoco Research Center surrounded by green fields, parking lots, and a nearby highway. The buildings are arranged around a central pond, with roads and trees scattered throughout the landscape. Designed by architects Edward Durell Stone and Associates, the complex was completed in 1970. It served as the primary research hub for Standard Oil of Indiana (later Amoco Corporation). In later years, the facility became part of BP's research operations after BP acquired Amoco.
