Antique real photo postcard showing a large commercial or meeting-hall building elaborately decorated for a patriotic celebration or parade. The building is covered with American flags, striped bunting, garlands, wreaths and other decorations. A large sign across the upper balconies appears to include the words “Parade Meeting Hall,” although parts are blocked by a utility pole and decorations. At street level is a cigar business with signs advertising Clear Havana Cigars. The exact business name, town and occasion have not been confirmed. The reverse has an unused divided postcard back produced by the Harris Photo Post Card Co., Pittston, Pennsylvania, and Mt. Arlington, New Jersey. That company produced real photo postcards during the early postcard era, supporting an approximate date of the late 1900s to 1910s. This is an appealing piece of early American social and commercial history with strong patriotic, architectural, cigar-advertising and local-history interest.
